US House Ways and Means Committee member Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., said the week of 16 September 2019 that a forthcoming compromise proposal from the panel’s Democrats to address the current-law cap on the deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) may call for a temporary repeal of the provision.
