EU Taxation News – Call for the expression of interest in participating in a FISCALIS workshop on “VAT rules for passenger transport” in Ankara from 27 to 29 April 2015

Under the FISCALIS 2020 programme a workshop on the VAT rules for passenger transport will take place in Ankara (Turkey) from 27 to 29 April 2015.

The final report of the study on the impact of the current VAT rules for passenger transport that was published on 15 January 2015 constitutes the starting point for the discussions during the workshop.

The workshop will bring together the representatives of the Member States and interested Candidate countries and a maximum of 20 transport operators and transport organisations. The findings of the passenger transport study will be presented to the participants and the current situation with regard to on board consumption will also be addressed. The presentation will be followed by workshops split up in smaller groups to allow for in-depth discussions. The conclusions to be drawn and the directions for actions that would be expected from the Commission will be discussed in a final session with all participants.

Only transport operators and transport organisations will be eligible. Private persons cannot applyA maximum of one delegate from each organisation and a maximum of 20 participants will be invited to register for the workshop. Transport organisations will be selected first. In case of more than 20 expressions of interest the applications will be selected in the order of their arrival. Subsequent to expression of interest invitation letters including the detailed work programme and a registration form will be sent to the selected stakeholders on 20 March 2015. The deadline for submitting the detailed registration form will be 30 March 2015.
