Romania delays 2019 VAT cut

The Romanian government is considering delaying the reduction of the VAT rate. The standard VAT rate was reduced from 24% to 20% with effect from 2016, and to 19% with effect from 2017. The government had planned a further reduction to 18% from 2019 but may need to delay the reduction to 2020 due to budget issues. A final decision is to be made towards the end of the year.
