- Mandatory e-invoicing by October 2026: North Macedonia is implementing the e-Faktura system, requiring all non-cash B2B invoices to be issued, transmitted, and validated electronically via the centralized DAP platform. The pilot/testing phase starts in January 2026, with full mandatory use expected by October 2026.
- Centralized, real-time validation: Invoices are generated either through company software or the PRO application, transmitted directly to e-Faktura, validated in real time, and assigned a unique electronic identifier (eID). Paper and PDF invoices are no longer valid for non-cash transactions.
-
Business adaptation and benefits: Companies must integrate their ERP or invoicing systems via APIs, review processes, and train staff. The system reduces administrative burden, cuts costs, increases transparency, enhances tax compliance, and supports automated fraud detection.
