- Finalization of Coretax System: Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is set to fully enforce its Coretax system for nearly all VAT-registered taxpayers by December 31, 2025, transitioning from the legacy e-Faktur framework to a real-time invoice validation model.
- Compliance Requirements: The Coretax mandate applies to all domestic B2B and B2G transactions, as well as export invoices and rectification documents. Invoices must be generated in a specific XML format, uploaded to Coretax for validation, and receive a QR code and Tax Invoice Serial Number (NSFP) to be valid for VAT deductions.
- Operational Considerations for Enterprises: Multinational companies dealing with high transaction volumes can use the Host-to-Host (H2H) channel to efficiently manage their invoicing, but they must make substantial technical adjustments to comply with the new XML schemas and clearance protocols. Engaging a knowledgeable third-party provider is recommended to ensure readiness by the enforcement deadline.
