  • France: The National Assembly has rejected the 2026 Finance Bill, leading to uncertainty regarding important e-invoicing and e-reporting updates that were anticipated for the upcoming year.
  • Belgium and Finland: Belgium plans to implement a €2 customs levy on small parcels imported from outside the EU as part of a budget agreement aimed at raising €9 billion in 2026, while Finland will eliminate the obligation to report goods arriving from other EU member states starting January 1, 2026.
  • Global Updates: Various countries are making tax adjustments, including Thailand’s proposal to gradually increase the VAT rate to 10% by 2030, Greece’s extension of the VAT suspension on new residential properties until December 2026, and Hungary’s approval of tax relief measures alongside an increase in the registration threshold.
