Denmark Outlines Tax Priorities for Upcoming EU Council Presidency

  • Denmark aims to finalize the 2028 Customs Reform by concluding negotiations on the Union Customs Code with the European Parliament by the December 12 ECOFIN Council meeting.

  • It also seeks agreement on related proposals: simplifying tariffs for distance sales, removing customs duty relief thresholds, and aligning VAT rules by eliminating the €150 exemption.

  • On CBAM, Denmark will prioritize reinforcing the regulation to prevent carbon leakage, supporting climate goals while maintaining fair competition for European industries.
