- The European Parliament has adopted a legislative resolution approving the amendment of the Agreement between the EU and Norway regarding administrative cooperation, fraud prevention, and recovery of claims related to value-added tax (VAT).
- This decision follows the proposal for a Council decision (COM(2023)0736) and the draft amendment (16014/2023), which aim to enhance cooperation in combating VAT fraud and improving recovery mechanisms.
- The Parliament’s approval allows its President to communicate this position to the Council, the European Commission, and the relevant governments and parliaments of EU Member States and Norway, solidifying the legislative process concerning VAT collaboration.
