- Mandatory E-Invoicing Proposal: On January 13, 2025, the European Commission proposed allowing Greece to implement mandatory e-invoicing for B2B transactions, effective from July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026, or until the ViDA directive is enacted.
- Enhanced Compliance and Efficiency: This initiative will leverage Greece’s existing myDATA platform to facilitate real-time e-invoice data transmission, introduce pre-filled VAT returns, and reduce administrative burdens for businesses.
- Preparation for Compliance: Businesses are advised to prepare for the upcoming e-invoicing requirements and ensure their systems are compatible with myDATA to support improved data quality and assist in tax fraud reduction efforts.
