More than a quarter of catering vendors do not issue receipts, and on public holidays, irregularities reach 46 percent – according to tax office data for the first half of 2024. A way to combat abuse is through verification purchases, during which an official takes on the role of a customer. The Ministry of Finance explains that it is not enough to register the sale at the cash register and print a receipt, but it must be handed to the customer.
