In Kazakhstan, e-Invoicing became mandatory for all taxpayers after January 1, 2019. The national e-Invoicing system is called IS ESF, which follows the clearance model used globally for tax reporting. The regulation applies to legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, non-resident taxpayers, and trustees. E-invoices must be in XML format, electronically signed, and stored for at least 5 years by the tax authority. The benefits include reliability, security, and elimination of the goods and services register.
