The Ministry of Finance is mandating electronic invoicing for all business-to-consumer transactions from January 1, 2025, as part of a draft law proposing significant updates. The national RO e-Invoice system will cover B2C transactions, with optional adoption from July 1, 2024, and mandatory compliance from January 1, 2025. Minister Marcel Boloș emphasized that this measure aligns with European standards and is essential for combating tax evasion. Exemptions are provided for specific entities, while non-compliance can be reported to tax authorities.
