The Government Emergency Ordinance (GEO) no. 30/2024 has extended the grace period for the non-transmission of invoices in the national electronic invoice system, RO e-Invoice, until 31 May 2024. Changes to excise duties have also been made, including new obligations for marking tobacco products intended for smokeless inhalation. The amendments also introduce penalties for not submitting invoices in the RO e-Invoice system and specify the obligation to store received excisable products in authorized premises. Additionally, alternative procedures for concluding the movement of excisable products under the excise duty suspension regime have been introduced.
