A property intermediary company allowing clients to use corporate credit cards for booking accommodation is liable for VAT on the fees it charges for the service, as confirmed by a tax tribunal. The case involved a dispute between Silverdoor and HM Revenue and Customs, where Silverdoor did not account for VAT on fees charged for corporate credit card payments. The company was assessed for around £109,000 in unpaid VAT.
