- From December 31, 2024, PDF invoices in Portugal must have a qualified electronic signature to be considered valid.
- This requirement is mandated by Article 12 of Decree Law No. 28/2019, which also allows the use of a qualified electronic seal or an electronic data interchange system.
- The Business@Mail solution helps with compliance by enabling automated signing and sending of invoices, as well as their traceability and legal storage.
- The decree aims to promote the adoption of electronic invoicing systems to reduce compliance costs and encourage technological development.
- There is an adaptation period until December 31, 2024, after which the new requirements will be mandatory.
