The Latvian Ministry of Finance is proposing amendments to the Accounting Law to make e-invoicing mandatory nationwide. The proposed timeline is for all companies to issue e-invoices to budget entities (B2G) by January 1, 2025, and for all companies to issue e-invoices for transactions between private entities (B2B) and transfer e-invoice data to the State Revenue Service by January 1, 2026. The requirements apply to all businesses under Article 3 of the Accounting Law. Additionally, the Ministry of Finance plans to introduce Peppol as one of the options for e-invoice exchange. The draft law will be open for public consultation until June 7, 2024.
