With respect to Colorado’s electronic sales and use tax simplification system that incorporates a geographic information system (GIS) database, new law provides that any vendor relying upon information in the GIS database for determining their state and local sales and use tax liability generally is held harmless for underpayments resulting solely from an error in the GIS database data.
