The Hungarian Tax Administration “NAV” is developing a new online platform called eVAT (eÁFA) to facilitate machine-to-machine transmission of transactional data for the VAT Return. The platform will include an analytics component that utilizes real-time invoice reporting, cash register data, customs data, and other systems. Taxpayers can create templates to view desired information, including their VAT return details. The system will compare uploaded XML data with existing information, and any discrepancies will prevent the filing of the VAT Return, requiring further investigation. The eVAT M2M System is still in development, with technical documentation subject to change, but a live environment is expected to be available in early 2024.
