Germany’s Bundestag has approved a plan to extend the timeline for implementing a nationwide e-invoice issuing mandate by one year. The first stage of the mandate will now begin on January 1, 2025, with a countrywide obligation to accept structured e-invoices, and companies will be required to issue e-invoices by January 1, 2027. The bill still requires approval from the parliament’s upper house, the Bundesrat, but is expected to pass without any issues.
