- The German Federal Government has approved the “Growth Opportunities Act,” which includes provisions on various tax matters, including the implementation of a nationwide B2B e-invoicing mandate.
- From January 1, 2025, e-invoices will be allowed without the buyer’s consent if they comply with the CEN EN 16931 standard, and from January 1, 2026, B2B e-invoicing will become mandatory. Small companies with annual turnover of 800,000 EUR or less in 2025 will have until January 2027 to comply.
- The reform is expected to be approved by the Federal Parliament and the Federal Council by the end of 2023.
