The government proposes applying the standard VAT rate to agricultural goods and services starting from January 1, 2025, as the original policy objective of the reduced rate (preventing cumulative taxation) became obsolete with the elimination of the agricultural scheme in 2018. Regarding other reduced VAT rates, the government believes that it should be the responsibility of the next administration to decide on the next steps based on the evaluation.
