The EU-funded Customs Control Equipment Instrument (CCEI) allows Member States to purchase, maintain, and upgrade state-of-the-art customs equipment such as new scanners, automated number plate recognition systems, sniffer dogs, and mobile laboratories for sample analysis. The European Commission is now making available new e-learning modules for customs officials to help them learn more about the tools available to them, and ultimately to continue playing their crucial role in EU society. Courses are restricted to serving customs officials. The modules can be taken individually and without any particular order.
