The European Commission has introduced a series of far-reaching proposals set to reshape the landscape of customs and value-added tax (VAT) within the European Union. These proposals encompass alterations to the EU Customs Union and modifications to EU VAT regulations for digital platforms. The phased implementation of the EU Customs Union reform is scheduled to commence in 2028, while significant EU VAT changes for platforms are earmarked for implementation by 2025.
