- Presidential Decree No. 7346, published on 7 July 2023, increases the value added tax (VAT) rates for certain products.
- Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss are now taxed at 10%, while soap, shampoo, detergent, disinfectants, wet wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, tissue and napkins are taxed at 20%.
- The general rate of 18% is now 20%, except for items on “list I and II.”
- These changes are effective as of 10 July 2023, resulting in Turkiye’s new VAT rates of 20% for standard items and 1% or 10% for reduced items.
