The FIOD has searched fourteen homes and business premises in the Netherlands as part of a major European investigation into VAT fraud. In addition, 34 cars and € 900,000 in cash were seized. It concerns an investigation into large-scale VAT fraud in the car industry.At the same time, more than 400 searches were carried out in Portugal, Germany and France, among others. These searches were part of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation into international criminal organizations suspected of committing cross-border VAT fraud.
