From 2023, solar panel holders will no longer pay VAT on the purchase and installation of solar panels on or near their home. But if they bought the solar panels in 2022, they still paid 21% VAT. They can reclaim that VAT on the purchase price of the panels and on the installation costs from the tax authorities. But beware: there is a deadline for this! They must apply for the VAT refund within six months after the end of the year in which they purchased the solar panels.
