The Ministry of Taxation has issued an order (No. 2023-4188) amending the Value Added Tax (VAT) Order. The amendments include changes to various sections of the order. Some of the key changes include the requirement for digital signatures on transaction data in the electronic journal, the inclusion of specific information in the electronic journal for each transaction, and the obligation for certain businesses in the hospitality and retail sectors to use digital sales registration systems. The order will come into effect on January 1, 2024.
