A draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada regarding amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine during martial law. The law proposes to bring back customs documentary checks, which were temporarily halted by Law No. 2142-IX. The absence of checks had a positive effect on businesses, leading to more meticulous fulfillment of formalities during declaration of goods. Despite the cessation of inspections, customs authorities continued to discover violations. The draft law proposes that checks during martial law will be carried out under safe access conditions, but this concept is absent in legislation and may negatively affect business operations.
