The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) conducted ten house searches in Belgium on Tuesday and arrested four suspects because of an investigation into a gang involved in customs fraud at Liège airport. As a result, at least EUR 303 million in VAT and EUR 6.6 million in customs duties would have been evaded between 2019 and 2022, the EPPO reports.
