The expansion of Malaysia’s service tax to apply to delivery services for goods (“goods delivery services”) was proposed in Budget 2022 (tabled in October 2021) and originally was slated to become effective on 1 July 2022; however, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) announced shortly before this that the application of the tax would be postponed to a future date to be announced.
