The Council of Minsters has approved a bill implementing into domestic legislation an EU Directive imposing reporting and exchange of information obligations in relation to the activities of certain digital platform operators located both inside and outside the European Union. The bill implementing the EU DAC7 directive obliges digital platforms to collect, verify and report information on sellers who use their platform to sell defined goods or provide services (e.g., rentals of immovable property), and also seeks to generally strengthen, for example through a joint audit framework and data breach procedures, the exchange of information and cooperation between Member States’ tax authorities.
