The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) of Malaysia issued the Tax Corporate Governance Framework (TCGF) and Tax Corporate Governance Guidelines (TCGG) on 11 April 2022, in response to the increasing expectation for organizations in Malaysia to implement governance practices that enhance the accountability, transparency, and integrity of the tax system. The introduction of the TCGF is part of the IRB’s initiative to adopt a cooperative tax compliance process in Malaysia that is both fair and effective.
