On 20 April 2022, the Danish government proposed new green tax reform measures to reach its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030. This includes the introduction of a new CO2 tax with a fixed minimum amount per tonne of CO2 that will be phased in from 2025 to 2030 as follows:
- Companies not covered by the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS):
- 2025 – DKK 350
- 2026 – DKK 430
- 2027 – DKK 510
- 2028 – DKK 590
- 2029 – DKK 670
- 2030 – DKK 750
