Partly as a result of Brexit, more and more internationally operating businesses have to take customs matters into account when importing and exporting. In practice, we see that Customs regularly discusses the customs value in transactions between related parties or in flows of goods without sale (such as transfer of stock). As a rule, the customs value in such cases cannot be based on the purchase or sale price of the goods. And this value is again important for the amount of the import duties owed. In this article we explain the consequences and points for attention for such deliveries.
