The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) issued tax policies in December 2021 to give effect to certain indirect tax measures announced in Budget 2022. These include the introduction of a service tax exemption for certain brokerage services related to the trading of stock that is effective as from 1 January 2022 and an extension of the exemption from the payment and collection of tourism tax for foreign tourists that stay at registered premises until 31 December 2022.
