Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance released Circular 100/2021/TT-BTC (Circular 100) on November 2021, amending several provisions of Circular 40. Circular No. 40/2021/TT BTC (Circular 40) was released in June 2021, and it gives new rules on personal income tax (PIT), value-added tax (VAT), and tax administration for firms and individual taxpayers.
Circulars 40 and 100 address the question of whether e-commerce platforms should report and submit taxes on online transactions on behalf of firms and individuals. Circular 40 also established the yearly taxable revenue level for families and individuals.
