New online fiscalization system is live in Albania according to the following schedule:
- January 1st, 2021, for B2G transactions
- July 1st, 2021, for B2B transactions
- September 1st, 2021, for B2C transactions
However, the authorities have announced that penalties would not be imposed in cases of breaches of duty regarding the fiscalization requirements until 2022.
With the approval of the normative act no. 27 dt from July 1st, 2021, amending the Law no. 9920, dated May 19th 2008 “On tax procedures in the Republic of Albania”, it is confirmed that penalties arising from the Law no. 87/2019 “On the invoice and the turnover monitoring system” shall not be applied before 2022.
Tax Administration informs the public that the approach to businesses regarding the new system will still be educational and advisory so that the fiscalization process is implemented as simple as possible, making the adaptation of taxpayers easier and quicker in order to reach the strongest effectiveness possible.
The reasons are on the side of the effects of the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 which has created a challenging economic and social situation for most of the business as well as customers.
