Entrepreneurs who use the old business portal for their VAT affairs can already make a switch to a different way of submitting their returns.
The old business portal will no longer be available for the VAT return from 2022. There are three ways to file your VAT returns for 2022 and beyond:
- via administration software
- through a tax service provider
- via the new business portal Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk
Prepare to switch now
We strongly recommend that you prepare for this switch now. Purchase administration software, engage a tax service provider or switch to Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk. You can switch immediately, but you must submit your first VAT return in Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk at the latest:
- 1st monthly return: February 2022 (about January 2022)
- 1st quarterly declaration: April 2022 (about 1st quarter 2022)
- 1st annual declaration: January 2023 (about 2022)
Which entrepreneurs cannot switch?
Entrepreneurs who cannot register in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce can continue to use the old business portal for the VAT return for the time being. These entrepreneurs can also choose to file a VAT return using administration software or via a tax service provider.
