The European Commission proposes a “one-stop shop” for customs

The “one-stop shop” proposal for customs will streamline the electronic exchange of information in the clearance of goods leaving or entering the EU.

Specifically, merchants will be able to submit the information required for import or export of merchandise in a single step. In this way, it will be possible to automatically verify non-customs procedures for goods imported and exported in the EU.

With the “customs single window” the European Commission hopes to improve cooperation and coordination between the authorities involved.
