Article

Croatia’s Tax Administration has released a new version of the FiskApplication, delivering a set of targeted improvements aimed at enhancing usability, data handling, and integration between fiscalization and e‑invoicing processes. While the changes are largely technical and operational, they reflect Croatia’s continued effort to refine its digital transaction control environment by improving transparency, traceability, and user experience.

Improved visibility and search functionality

One of the key improvements concerns information visibility for incoming fiscalized invoices. The application now displays the issuer’s OIB (personal identification number) directly in the search results, allowing taxpayers to more easily identify counterparties when reviewing received fiscalized data.

For outgoing invoices, the search functionality has been expanded to allow business premises to be used as a search criterion. This is particularly relevant for taxpayers with multiple registered premises, enabling more granular analysis and faster reconciliation of fiscalized transactions across locations.

Data export and new processing status

The updated FiskApplication now allows users to export fiscalized invoice data in CSV and XLSX formats. This enhancement supports downstream processes such as reconciliation, internal reporting, audit preparation, and data analysis outside the tax authority’s platform.

In addition, a new “Awaiting matching” status has been introduced for fiscalized data. This status provides clearer feedback on invoices that have been fiscalized but are still pending matching or further processing, improving transparency in monitoring the lifecycle of fiscalized transactions.

The update also includes revised user instructions, helping taxpayers and authorised users better understand system functionality and recent changes.

Closer alignment between fiscalization and e‑invoicing

Beyond usability, the update introduces a structurally important change: the FiskApplication now allows users to assign fiscalization authorisations with confirmation of the e‑invoice reception address. This reinforces the operational connection between fiscalization obligations and e‑invoicing contact data, ensuring that authorised users and technical endpoints are consistently aligned across both regimes.

This enhancement reflects a broader trend in Croatia toward greater integration of transaction‑level controls, reducing fragmentation between fiscal cash controls and electronic invoicing frameworks.

Why this matters

While no new obligations are introduced, these changes have practical implications for businesses operating in Croatia. Improved searchability, clearer status indicators, and export functionality reduce manual work and compliance risk, while tighter integration between fiscalization authorisations and e‑invoicing addresses strengthens governance over who can issue and manage fiscalized invoices.

Taken together, the updates underline Croatia’s continued focus on incremental optimisation of its digital tax infrastructure, improving day‑to‑day compliance while laying the groundwork for more seamlessly connected control systems.

The official announcement of the new FiskApplication is published by the Croatian Tax Administration on the government portal.
