Innovate Tax – Global Tax Updates: March 2026 Snippets

  • Several European countries are implementing or considering VAT rate changes: Austria and Sweden are consulting/approving temporary VAT cuts on food, Croatia is extending reduced VAT on heating and gas, and Spain has reduced VAT on electricity and natural gas.
  • The UK has ruled that some public EV charging can qualify for a reduced 5% VAT rate, while Argentina is cutting VAT on electricity for agro-industrial irrigation to 10.5%.
  • E-invoicing mandates are progressing globally: Spain approved a phased B2B e-invoicing rollout from July 2027, Norway is moving towards mandatory e-invoicing from January 2027, and Singapore extended its InvoiceNow GST implementation timeline.
