Launch of Curia Web TV, a brand new public audiovisual platform in order to foster openness and transparency
Through engaging, multilingual programmes, Curia Web TV brings EU law and the Court’s work closer to the public in an informative and approachable way.
The new platform has its own dedicated section on the Curia website. Programming follows the judicial calendar and includes
- live broadcasts of judgments and Opinions
- delayed broadcasts of hearings
- briefings explaining the legal issues behind selected ongoing hearings
- short videos in which Members of the Court present recent landmark rulings
Beyond judicial news, Curia Web TV also introduces three brand-new specialised programmes that will be regularly broadcast on the platform.
- Cour de Citoyens is an educational series explaining the composition, jurisdiction and mission of the Court, with concrete examples of how its rulings impact our daily lives.
- Open Court features behind-the-scenes interviews with the Court’s Members, offering insights into how the Court functions.
- Bright highlights the Court’s role in areas of particular interest to citizens using plain language in a short and lively format.
Programmes are produced in different official EU languages and subtitled in the others, ensuring accessibility for everyone. Content will also be shared across the Court’s social media accounts.
With the launch of Curia Web TV, the Court strengthens transparency and raises awareness of its work, while providing high-quality audiovisual material for citizens, educators and the media. It offers a fresh and exciting way to discover EU law and role of the Court.
