- Enhanced Trade Framework: As of today, the EU and Ukraine have implemented an upgraded Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), establishing a stable and permanent trade framework that promotes mutual benefits while considering the sensitivities of EU agricultural sectors.
- Key Pillars of the Agreement: The upgraded DCFTA focuses on three main areas: enhanced trade flows with carefully calibrated market access for sensitive products, alignment of Ukrainian production standards with EU regulations, and a robust safeguard clause to address potential import disruptions.
- Support for Economic Integration: The agreement aims to support Ukraine’s long-term economic stability and integration into the EU Single Market, while also exploring measures to assist Ukrainian exporters in accessing traditional markets in third countries, contributing to global food security.
