EU boosts tax cooperation with Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, and San Marino

  • The European Union has signed amended protocols with Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, and San Marino to strengthen existing tax cooperation agreements.
  • These amendments update the reciprocal automatic exchange of financial account information to align with the latest EU Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC) and OECD Common Reporting Standard, aiming to combat tax fraud and ensure fair competition.
  • These updated protocols, along with an anticipated similar agreement with Switzerland, are expected to enter into force on January 1, 2026, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to global tax transparency.
