- Publication of Government Procurement Rules: The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has announced the approval and publication of the fifth edition of the Government Procurement Rules, which will take effect on December 1, 2025.
- E-Invoicing Requirements: Agencies that send or receive over 2,000 domestic trade invoices annually must have e-invoicing capabilities by January 1, 2026, and large suppliers with revenues exceeding 33 million NZD must submit e-invoices starting January 1, 2027.
- Faster Payment Targets: The new rules aim to enhance payment efficiency, increasing the target for agencies to pay 95% of domestic trade e-invoices within 5 business days by 2026, while also ensuring that suppliers provide favorable payment terms to their subcontractors.
