- Postponement of POS Certification Deadline: The French General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) has delayed the mandatory certification of point-of-sale (POS) software and cash-register systems to September 1, 2026, extending the previous deadline by six months.
- Certification Process Changes: Following the removal of self-certification options, only certificates issued by accredited bodies are accepted, with the software or cash register publishers responsible for obtaining and transmitting the certification to users.
- Compliance Requirements and Penalties: Certification ensures that transaction data meets standards for inalterability, security, conservation, and archiving. Non-compliance can result in fines of €7,500 per unapproved POS unit used in B2C transactions.
