- Introduction of Advanced Ordering Functionality: Participants in Singapore’s InvoiceNow network will soon access enhanced capabilities, including the new Advanced Ordering functionality, which streamlines processes related to purchase orders, order changes, and cancellations. This is supported by the introduction of the SG BIS Order Balance document specification.
- Automation Benefits for Buyers and Sellers: The enhancements will allow sellers to automate critical processes such as order approval, picking, and invoice generation. Vendors will be able to create invoices directly from purchase orders from public sector entities, significantly reducing manual processing efforts and improving efficiency for procuring agencies.
- Core Functionalities and Rollout Timeline: The Advanced Ordering implementation will support various workflows, including buyer-initiated order changes and cancellations, as well as seller-initiated adjustments. The initial rollout will focus on government suppliers, with testing of these new features set to begin in September 2025, as outlined in the specifications for BIS Advance Ordering 3.0 and Order Balance v1.
