- Mandatory B2G E-Invoicing: Since 2019, all Dutch public authorities must receive e-invoices from suppliers, with around 1.6 million exchanged annually. Although B2B e-invoicing is voluntary, businesses must obtain buyer consent and ensure compliance with integrity and retention requirements.
- Key Features and Formats: E-invoices in the Netherlands utilize formats like SI-UBL 2.0 and Peppol BIS 3.0, with the Peppol network facilitating government transactions. Suppliers can submit invoices via accounting software, Peppol access points, or a government portal.
- Compliance and Penalties: Non-compliance with e-invoicing regulations, particularly for suppliers to the central government, can result in fines. By July 1, 2030, businesses must comply with mandatory e-invoicing and e-reporting for cross-border B2B transactions.
