Mozambique reinstated VAT exemptions on soap, sugar, and cooking oil effective 30 May to 31 December 2025, aiming to ease living costs and support local production and consumption.

Law No. 3/2025 also exempts raw materials for soap, sugar, and edible oil industries, reversing the earlier removal of exemptions that ended on 31 December 2023.
