The Bureau of Internal Revenue expanded the VAT-exempt list, adding nine medicines for cancer, kidney disease, tuberculosis, hypertension, and diabetes, following endorsements from the Food and Drug Administration.

Newly exempted medicines include tablets, powders, solutions, capsules, and dialysis solutions; earlier in April, eight drugs for hypertension, mental illness, diabetes, and high cholesterol were also added to the list.
